Diagnostic Overview

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 54 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to Air Conditioning (AC) Pressure Transducer .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: PCM (Powertrain Control Module) C175B.
3. Disconnect: A/C (Air Conditioning) Pressure Transducer.
4. Ignition ON.
5. Measure:
Is any voltage present?
2. CHECK THE A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Measure:
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
2G3. CHECK A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER
1. Measure:
Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?
4. CHECK A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
5. CHECK THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) OUTPUT VOLTAGE
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect: PCM (Powertrain Control Module) C175B.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Measure:
Is the voltage between 4.7 and 5.1 volts?
6. CHECK THE A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER HIGH
1. Using a scan tool, view PCM (Powertrain Control Module) PIDs (Parameter Identifications).
2. Monitor the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) PID (Parameter Identification) ACP_PRESS.
3. Connect a fused jumper wire:
Does the PID (Parameter Identification) voltage read greater than 4 volts?
7. CHECK THE A/C (Air Conditioning) PRESSURE TRANSDUCER LOW
1. Using a scan tool, view PCM (Powertrain Control Module) PIDs (Parameter Identifications).
2. Monitor the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) PID (Parameter Identification) ACP_PRESS.
3. Connect a fused jumper wire:
Does the PID (Parameter Identification) voltage read less than 4.9 volts?
8. CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM (Powertrain Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
