PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) - INDICATOR
LIGHT FLASHES WHILE DRIVING
FORD:
2011-2013 Fiesta
ISSUE
2011-2013 Fiesta Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) indicator light flashes while driving.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Reprogram the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) to the latest software calibration level using the IDS release 81.02 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the IDS 2012.9 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.
2. After reprogramming the RFA module, a DTC may be set in the module that cannot be cleared.
a. If a DTC is set, go to the programmable parameters menu, and choose:
(1) Keyless Entry
(2) Start
b. There will be two parameters displayed that are both titled - Remote Function Actuator.
(1) Ensure both of these parameters are set to - Enabled.
(2) After enabling both parameters, the DTC in the RFA will be able to be cleared.
WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
