Diagnostic Overview
The One-Touch Up Feature is Inoperative - XLT or Limited
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
A new front window motor cannot operate in one-touch up mode prior to initialization. A front window motor can also lose it's initialization if battery voltage is removed from the motor (for example, if the battery is disconnected or power window motor fuse removed) while the window is moving. To initialize the power window motor, REFER to Window Motor Initialization Testing and Inspection. For a description of the one-touch up feature, REFER to Front Power Windows - XLT or Limited .
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK FOR POWER (B+) LOSS DURING WINDOW OPERATION
1. Verify if power (B+) was lost during window operation.
Was power (B+) lost while the window was in operation?
2. INITIALIZE THE WINDOW MOTOR
1. Carry out the window motor initialization procedure. REFER to Window Motor Initialization Testing and Inspection.
Is the one-touch up/down feature operating correctly?
3. CHECK THE LH (Left Hand) FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION AT THE WINDOW MOTOR
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Front Window Motor.
3. Ignition ON.
4. NOTE: Voltage should be present on both circuits in each of the tested switch positions.
While pressing and holding the LH (Left Hand) front window control switch in both the UP and DOWN positions, measure:
Are the voltages greater than 11 volts when the window control switch is fully pressed in UP and DOWN positions?
4. INITIALIZE THE WINDOW MOTOR
1. Carry out the window motor initialization procedure. REFER to Window Motor Initialization Testing and Inspection.
2. Verify the RH (Right Hand) window operation from the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) front window control switches.
Does the one-touch up/down feature operate from both the LH (Left Hand) and RH (Right Hand) front window control switches?
