Coolant Inlet Pipe - 3.5L, 3.7L





NOTE: LH cylinder head, upper and lower intake manifold are removed for clarity.









Removal

1. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) and ACL (Air Cleaner) outlet pipe.

2. Remove the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to Thermostat Housing- 3.5L, 3.7L Service and Repair.

3. NOTE: The cylinder heads are removed for clarity.
Remove the coolant inlet pipe.

- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.






4. Remove all residual coolant from the cylinder block valley.

Installation

1. NOTICE: The engine cooling system is filled with Motorcraft(R) Specialty Orange Engine Coolant. Do not mix coolant types. Mixing coolant types degrades the corrosion protection of the coolant.

NOTE: Apply clean engine coolant to the O-ring seal prior to installation.

NOTE: The cylinder heads are removed for clarity.
Using a new O-ring seal, install the coolant inlet pipe.






2. Install the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to Thermostat Housing- 3.5L, 3.7L Service and Repair.

3. Install the ACL (Air Cleaner) and ACL (Air Cleaner) outlet pipe.
