Pinpoint Test B: All Power Windows are Inoperative - Edge

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation

Under normal operation, voltage is supplied to the LH and RH front window control switches from the accessory delay relay. The accessory delay relay is located in the Body Control Module (BCM).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Circuit breaker

- Accessory delay relay

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- Window control switch

PINPOINT TEST B : ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE - EDGE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

B1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504A.

- Ignition ON.

- Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C504A-2, circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side and ground.

Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to B3.

No
VERIFY circuit breaker 48 (30A) is OK. If OK, GO to B2.

If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short Electrical Diagrams. REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

B2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH VOLTAGE CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.

- Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D.

- Measure the resistance between BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D-27, circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side and LH front window control switch C504A-2, circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test L to diagnose the accessory delay relay circuit Pinpoint Test L: The Delayed Accessory Is Inoperative.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

B3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

- Ignition OFF.

- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504B.

- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504B-7, circuit GD133 (BK), harness side and ground.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
