Pinpoint Test N: DTC U0300:55
Normal Operation
The adaptive cruise control system is enabled when the vehicle speed is set and the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM), which is a radar sensor unit, determines the distance and relative speed of the vehicle that is in the path of travel. The C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) can be aligned both vertically and horizontally. The vertical alignment is a manual procedure carried out by adjusting the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) adjustment screw. The horizontal alignment is a software procedure that is carried out internal to the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module). The C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) communicates over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN).
- DTC U0300:55 (Internal Control Module Software Incompatibility: Not Configured)- set by the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) as a continuous memory and on-demand DTC if the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) detects a misalignment of a new module. The radar needs to be aligned due to the alignment angle being out of range.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) out of alignment
PINPOINT TEST N : DTC U0300:55
N1 INSPECT THE C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) BRACKET
- Inspect for damage to the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) bracket.
Is the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) bracket damaged?
Yes
REPAIR or INSTALL a new C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) bracket as necessary. REFER to Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) . CARRY OUT the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) alignment. REFER to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) (with Sensor) Adjustment Adjustments. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to N2.
N2 CARRY OUT THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT
- NOTE: Remove the front bumper cover to carry out the vertical alignment procedure.
Carry out the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) alignment. Refer to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) (with Sensor) Adjustment Adjustments.
Does the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) align correctly?
Yes
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern was caused by a misaligned sensor.
No
INSTALL a new C-CM (Cruise-Control Module). REFER to Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) . CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
