Frame and Body Mounting
The frame is made up of 2 steel channel rails and riveted crossmembers, except for the transmission support crossmember and engine support crossmember, which are bolted. Vehicle application determines the crossmembers used. For information on the crossmembers, refer to the Ford Trucks Body Builder's Layout Book.
The vehicle body sits on rubber body supports. There are lower and upper body supports to keep the vehicle body from sitting directly on the frame.
For information on E-350 and E-450 cutaway and stripped chassis models, refer to the Ford Light and Heavy Truck Body Builder's Layout Book.
