Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

1999 Ford Ranger 2WD V6-3.0L VIN USECTION Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor connector.







3. Remove the screws and the throttle position sensor

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Failure to install the throttle position sensor in this manner may result in excessive idle speeds. Install the throttle position sensor by sliding the rotary tangs into position over the throttle shaft blade, then rotate the throttle position sensor.

2. Install the throttle position sensor with the tangs in proper alignment.
