The ACM/Air Bag System Diagnostic Module (ASDM) and SRS diagnosis unit (SDU) contain one of the impact sensors which enables system to activate air bag. The ACM/Air Bag Electronic Control Module (AECM) and SRS air bag control unit (SRS-ECU) contain the impact sensors which enables system to activate air bag.

To avoid accidental deployment, never connect ACM/ASDM, ACM/AECM, SDU or SRS-ECU electrically to system unless it is bolted to vehicle.

1. Disarm air bag as described under Air Bag System Disarming & Arming at Air Bag Systems/ Service and Repair.
2. Remove side cover, manual transaxle shift lever knob, and floor console switch panel.
3. Remove armrest assembly, bolts and floor console.
4. Remove SRS-ECU harness connectors, then SRS--ECU and bracket.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
