Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit:
LOCATION
The speed sensor is located in the speedometer head.
OPERATION
The vehicle speed sensor uses a magnetic reed type switch. As the speedometer cable turns, the switch turns on and off (opening and closing the circuit). The ECU senses the speed at which this happens as the vehicle speed.
