    Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Control Module (2) - Install

  2. Connect the electrical connector.
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Control Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Wiring Harness Bracket (1) - Install

    Steering Column (2) - Install

  7. NOTE:

    Support the steering column while installing the steering column nuts.

  8. Steering Column Nut (1) - Install and hand tighten [4x]

    Steering Column Nut (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications 

  10. Connect the steering column electrical connectors.

    NOTE:

    Ensure the match marks on the upper intermediate steering shaft and steering column are aligned.

    Insert the tab at the top of the instrument panel outer trim cover (1) into the instrument panel before installing.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator - Left Side (2) - Install

    Install the turn signal switch bracket (1) as an assembly.

  29. Ensure the tabs on the turn signal switch bracket are fully engaged.

    Tighten the turn signal switch bracket band clamp (1) to specification. Fastener Specifications

    Wiring Harness Clip (1) - Install [3x]

  32. Electrical Connector (2) - [2x]

    NOTE:

    Ensure the 5 integral retainers are fully engaged.

    Steering Wheel Airbag Coil (1) - Install

  35. Connect the electrical connector.

    Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.

    Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Secure the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  41. Steering Wheel (2) - Install
  42. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  43. Steering Wheel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connector.

  45. WARNING:

    After installation of the steering wheel airbag module to the steering wheel, slightly pull the module outward. If there is no give on the airbag module then it is secured correctly. If the airbag module is not fully attached personal injury could result.

    Install the left and right steering wheel airbag access hole covers (1).

  49. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  50. Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Wheel Position Sensor Centering
  51. If battery was disconnected for steering column replacement, wait for all modules to fall asleep. This can be done by closing all vehicle closures (doors, trunk, hood) and waiting for three minutes without actuating any vehicle functions or pushing any buttons.
  52. Perform functionality check of tilt and telescoping features.
