Removal Procedure
- Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) , or Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
Front Bumper Fascia (1) - Remove - Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (Base) , or Front Bumper Fascia Removal and Installation (Z71)
Headlamp Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
Front Bumper Shutter Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]
- Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
- Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support - Center (3) - Remove
- Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support - Left Side (4) - Remove
- Hood Front Bumper Bracket Support - Right Side (5) - Remove
Hood Front Bumper Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
Hood Front Bumper Bracket (1) - Reposition
Retainer (1) - Remove [2x]
- Radiator Air Upper Baffle (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
The upper shutter and upper baffle will be removed together.
Radiator Air Front Upper Baffle Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Disconnect harness and retainers as necessary.
- Radiator Air Front Upper Baffle (2) - Remove
Radiator Upper Bracket Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [4x]
Radiator Upper Bracket - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Remove [2x]
Auxiliary Radiator Inlet Hose Retainer (1) - Disengage
- Auxiliary Radiator Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Remove
- Oil Filler Cap - Remove
Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
To avoid small parts like bolts or retainers fallen into the engine, install the Oil Filer Cap.
Oil Filler Cap (1) - Install
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Turbocharger Outlet Duct Front Clamp (1) - Release
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (5) - Loosen
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (3) - Remove
- Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator (4) - Remove
Clip (1) - Remove [2x]
-Disconnect the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
- Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Charge Air Cooler Coolant Pump (2) - Reposition
Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose (1) @ Engine Auxiliary Radiator - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connector and release the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
Radiator Surge Tank Air Separator (1) - Remove
Retainer (1) - Remove
- Radiator Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Remove
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (3) @ Engine Radiator - Remove
Retainer (1) - Remove
- Radiator Outlet Hose (2) @ Engine Radiator - Remove
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger Nut (3) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (4) @ Air Conditioning Condenser - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (5) - Remove and DISCARD
Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Nut (1) - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose (2) @ Air Conditioning Condenser - Remove
- Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal (3) - Remove and DISCARD
Engine Coolant Fan Module Radiator Assembly (1) - Remove

When to See a Mechanic
