To program a replacement control module, perform the following procedure:

  1. Ignition/Vehicle OFF, ensure that the key fob is inside the vehicle and not moved for the duration of the programming to prevent an inadvertent power mode change during programming.
  2. Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select K43 Power Steering Control Module - Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select K43 Power Steering Control Module - Setup and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. If the Setup fails, check for DTC U1962. If this DTC is set, perform the Serial Data Authentication Configuration procedure. Then repeat the Setup step.
  6. Clear DTCs.
