NOTE:
  • Ensure the EL-52100  (MDI 2) is used when programming the vehicle. Using the EL-47955 (MDI) will result in a programming failure.
  • It may be necessary to use another EL-52100  (MDI 2) and/or cables to verify proper operation to eliminate the possibility of faulty equipment.
  • If Ethernet programming fails, ensure there is no fault in the Ethernet circuits between the X84 Data Link Connector and K56 Serial Data Gateway Module. Refer to Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Vehicle to diagnose these Ethernet circuits.

In the event of an interrupted or unsuccessful programming event, perform the following steps:

  1. Attempt to perform Vehicle Wide Programming a second time.
  2. Verify no modules have failed programming during the VWP event.
    • If ANY single module fails Vehicle Wide Programming: 
    1. Attempt to program the applicable module again. Refer to: Control Module References 
    2. If the module still cannot be programmed, contact Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) for programming instructions.
    • If ALL modules fail Vehicle Wide Programming 

      If the module still cannot be programmed, contact Techline Customer Support Center (TCSC) for programming instructions.

    • Go to next step: If all applicable modules pass Vehicle Wide Programming: 

      Go to next step: Clear DTCs.
