The K9 Body Control Module monitors the switch on signal circuit 1788 and the switch receives a constant ground on ground circuit 1851. When the traction control switch is pressed once, the K9 Body Control Module requests the brake system K160 Brake System Control Module via serial data to disable the traction control. The K160 Brake System Control Module commands the instrument cluster via serial data to turn the traction control off indicator ON and display the Traction Control Off message on the driver information center to notify the driver of the deactivation.

When the traction control switch is pressed and held for five seconds, the K9 Body Control Module requests the K160 Brake System Control Module to disable the traction control and stability control. The K160 Brake System Control Module commands the instrument cluster via serial data to turn the traction control off indicator ON and the traction/stability indicator ON to notify the driver of the deactivation.
