Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON.
- Verify K5 Automatic Level Control Module software is up to date.
- If software is not up to date
Program the K5 Automatic Level Control Module
- Go to next step: If software is up to date
- If software is not up to date
- Verify DTC C1194 is not set in the K5 Automatic Level Control Module.
- If DTC is set
Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If DTC is not set
- If DTC is set
- Inspect the lines between the Compressor and the Air Suspension Control Module Manifold, and the intake hose for blockage or kinks.
- If blockage or kinks are found
Repair as necessary.
- Go to next step: If blockage or kinks are not found
- If blockage or kinks are found
- Using a scan tool, perform the control function Pneumatic Connection Pressure Test.
- Using the scan tool, perform control functions Test Compressor Pneumatic Operation.
- Verify the compressor runs and passes.
- If compressor does not run, or the test fails
- Test for damage, improper seating, evidence of water/ice, or leaks using soapy water on the following components:
- Air Suspension Control Module Manifold
- Fittings
- Air line from the Air Suspension Control Module Manifold to the Automatic Level Control Air Supply Reservoir
- Automatic Level Control Air Supply Reservoir
- If damage, improper seating, evidence of water/ice, or leaks are found
Repair damage, improper seating, evidence of water/ice, or leaks.
- Go to next step: If no damage, improper seating, evidence of water/ice, or leaks are found
- Disconnect the intake hose from the G4 Automatic Level Control Air Compressor.
- Using a scan tool, perform the control function Pneumatic Connection Pressure Test.
- Using a scan tool, perform the control function Test Compressor Pneumatic Operation.
- Verify compressor runs and passes.
- If the compressor does not run or the test fails
Replace the G4 Automatic Level Control Air Compressor.
- Go to next step: If the compressor runs and the test passes
- If the compressor does not run or the test fails
- Inspect or replace the intake hose.
- Go to next step: If compressor runs and the test passes
- Clear DTCs. Operate system under the Conditions for Running the DTC.
- Verify DTCs do not reset.
- If DTC sets
Replace the K5 Automatic Level Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If DTC sets
- All OK.
Scan tool control functions will be inhibited by any DTC present in the K5 Automatic Level Control Module. Refer to: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle to resolve any DTCs necessary.
