Installation Procedure
Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install
Air Inlet Grille Panel (1) - Install
Windshield Washer Nozzle Extension Hose (1) - Connect
Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension Retainer (1) - Install [4x]
Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension - Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
- Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension Retainer - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [4x]
- CAUTION:
Failure to correctly position the windshield wiper arm assembly to the windshield wiper motor could result in damage to the windshield wiper system.
Place the vehicle in service mode with the windshield wiper system in the off position. Power Mode Description and Operation
- Clean the windshield wiper pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm assembly.
- Install the windshield wiper arm (1) and verify that the windshield wiper arm (1) is aligned with the markings on the windshield (2).
- Windshield Wiper Arm - Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Windshield Wiper Arm Nut - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Prior to windshield wiper arm finish cap installation, perform a visual inspection of the windshield wiper arm nut (2) flushness to the windshield wiper motor pivot shaft (1). If the windshield wiper arm nut (2) is 2 or more thread below the top surface of the pivot shaft (1), the windshield wiper arm assembly must be replaced.
Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
Perform the following steps with the vehicle in the on position.
- Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
- Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles.
- Turn the windshield wiper switch to the off position.
- Lift up the windshield wiper arm assembly (1) and gently set back on the glass.
- Ensure the windshield wiper arms assembly are in the full park position.
- Check the windshield wiper arm alignment (1) to the glass wiper alignment marks (2).
- If the windshield wiper arm (1) is not aligned, perform the windshield wiper arm adjustment. Windshield Wiper Arm Adjustment
