Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup
EBCM Programming and Setup - Hybrid
If the electronic brake control module (EBCM) is replaced or needs reprogrammed, the following procedures must be performed:
* EBCM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) Service Programming System (SPS).
Note:
The vehicle must be at least 35° (1.6° C) or warmer before performing the set up procedures below. Use a contact thermometer or an infrared temperature gun to measure the temperature of the EHCU. The EBCM Relearn procedure should not be performed if the ECHU temp is below 35° degrees F (1.6° C) and the brake pedal should remain in the rest position, brakes not applied.
* Perform the EBCM Relearn using a scan tool following the steps below.
Note:
The scan tool will have a soft key labeled "RESET". Press the soft key to start the EBCM Relearn. The scan tool will read *Procedure in Progress*.
1. Ignition ON, engine OFF, using a scan tool access the EBCM, Module Setup screen, and perform the EBCM Relearn.
2. The scan tool screen should read "Process Complete". If the Relearn fails, clear all DTCs and repeat the EBCM Relearn, beginning at Step 1.
3. At this point the relearn is not completed; WAIT an additional 50 seconds without depressing the brake pedal.
4. Clear all the DTCs from all the modules.
5. Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position and remove the key.
6. Open the driver's door and wait one minute. This will disable the retained accessory power allowing the High Speed GMLAN Serial Data Bus to go to sleep and write the data to the EBCM.
Note:
The Acceleration Sensor Reset (Yaw/Lat Sensor) and the BMC Primary Piston Position Relearn will not need to be performed if the EBCM Relearn has been performed.
* Perform the module setup BMC Prim. Piston Pos. Relearn.
* Perform the module setup Acceleration Sensor Reset.
