Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair

2. Remove the front suspension skid plate, if equipped. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Skid Plate Replacement

3. Place a basin underneath the vehicle.

4. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission case plug.





5. Remove the transmission case plug (1). DISCARD the case plug.

6. Add transmission fluid until it seeps out of the plug hole.

Installation Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install a NEW case plug (1) and tighten to 4Nm (35 lb in) plus 45-135 degrees.

2. Install the front suspension skid plate, if equipped. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Skid Plate Replacement

3. Lower the vehicle.
