Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.

2. Remove the water deflector.

3. Remove the door window switch from the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement.

Reinstall the window switch to the door harness this will allow you to operate the door window.





4. Locate the outer reveal belt seal (1) and mirror patch (2), mark the window (3) in 3 places for the initial window position before adjustments are performed. These marks will aid in positioning the window to the desired location during adjustment.

5. Remove the front side door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement Service and Repair.

6. Mark all locations of the bolts/nuts and the window when removing the regulator. To ensure proper alignment when installing the window regulator later.

2. Front rail lower nut





7. Remove the front side door window regulator cable retainers (1).

8. Remove the front side door window regulator nut covers (2) located at the bottom of the door.

9. Remove the front side door window regulator lower nuts (3) located at the bottom of the door.

10. Remove The front side door window regulator upper nuts (4).

11. Remove the front side door window regulator motor bolt (5).

12. Disconnect the electrical from the motor.

13. Remove the window regulator from the door.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the window regulator to the door as follows:

1. Rear rail lower nut

2. Front rail lower nut





2. Place the window regulator bolts/nuts with the align up marks in step 4 of the removal, to ensure proper alignment.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the front side door window regulator upper nuts (4) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the front side door window regulator lower nuts (3) to the marks 4 located at the bottom of the door and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

5. Install the front side door window regulator motor bolt (5) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

6. Install the front side door window regulator cable retainers (1).

7. Install the front side door window regulator nut covers (2) located at the bottom of the door.

8. Connect the electrical to the motor.





Warning:
Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning.


9. Align the front side door window (3) using the marks taken in step 6 of the removal. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement Service and Repair.

10. Tighten the regulator clamps to the window when the marks align.

11. After all adjustment are completed, the regulator clamps bolts are tightened, pull the outside handle to release the door latch bolt before closing the door.

12. Inspect the window for proper operation in the open and closed position before installing the door trim panel.

13. Install the water deflector.

14. Install the window switch to the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement.

15. Install the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.

16. Clean the door window.

17. After replacing the window regulator assembly, it may be necessary to reprogram. Refer to Window Motor Programming - Express Function Testing and Inspection.
