Knock Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.





2. Remove the 2 intake manifold bracket bolts (2, 3).

3. Unclip the wiring harness.

4. Remove the intake manifold bracket (1).





5. Remove the sensor bolt (1).

6. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector.

7. Remove the knock sensor (2) from the bracket (3).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the knock sensor (2) to the bracket (3).

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution

2. Install the sensor bolt (1) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the electrical wiring harness connector.





4. Install the intake manifold bracket (1).

5. Clip in the wiring harness to the bracket.

6. Install the 2 intake manifold bracket bolts (2, 3) and tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb in).

7. Connect the negative cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
