Battery Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Remove the accessory wiring junction block. Refer to Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement.

3. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement.




4. Open the positive battery cable terminal cover and release the positive cable clamp (1).

5. Remove the positive battery cable from the battery.




6. Remove the battery hold down fastener (1) and hold down retainer (2).





Note: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.

7. Remove the battery (1).




8. Remove the battery insulator.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the battery insulator.





Note: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during installation.

2. Install the battery (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the battery hold down retainer and tighten the fastener to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).




4. Install the positive battery cable clamp (1) to the battery positive post.

5. Install the battery positive cover.

6. Install the accessory wiring junction block. Refer to Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement.

7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

8. Install the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement.
