Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (2WD 2.9L and 3.7L) Transmission ReplacementTransmission Replacement (4WD 2.9L and 3.7L) Transmission ReplacementTransmission Replacement (4WD 5.3L) Transmission Replacement.
2. Remove and discard the flywheel bolts.
3. Remove the flywheel.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the flywheel to the crankshaft
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the new flywheel bolts and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb ft) plus an additional 45 degrees using the J 45059 .
3. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement (2WD 2.9L and 3.7L) Transmission ReplacementTransmission Replacement (4WD 2.9L and 3.7L) Transmission ReplacementTransmission Replacement (4WD 5.3L) Transmission Replacement.
