Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side).
2. Push the body control module (BCM) up and move the bottom of the BCM away from and out of the mounting bracket slot. Position the BCM aside.
3. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
4. Release the wiring harness clips from the bracket.
5. Remove the brake pedal pushrod nut (1).
6. Remove the brake pedal pushrod bushing (1).
7. Disconnect the brake pedal pushrod (1) from the brake pedal.
8. Remove the brake pedal bolt (1) and nut (2).
9. Remove the brake pedal (1).
10. Remove the brake pedal pivot bushings (1) and spacer (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Apply a light coating of silicone lubricant to the brake pedal pivot spacer.
2. Install the brake pedal pivot bushings (1) and spacer (2).
3. Install the brake pedal (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
4. Install the brake pedal bolt (1) and nut (2) and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
5. Connect the brake pedal pushrod (1) to the brake pedal.
6. Install the brake pedal pushrod bushing (1).
7. Install the brake pedal pushrod nut (1) and tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb in).
8. Secure the wiring harness clips to the bracket.
9. Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
10. Insert the top of the BCM up into the mounting bracket, then engage the bottom of the BCM into the mounting bracket slot.
11. Install the left instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side).
