Selective Washer Measurement and Installation

Special Tools

J 34673 - Gage Block

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).




1. Place the J 34673 - gage block across the machined surface of the case infront or behind the direct/coast clutch shaft.
2. Measure the distance between the top of the direct/coast clutch housing (105) and the machined surface of the case (record measurement).
3. Note the recorded measurement and choose the correct selective washer. Refer to End Play Specifications (End Play Specifications).





Note: Position the tab, on the selective thrust washer (104), in the recessed area for the retainer and ball assembly.

4. Assemble the selective thrust washer (104) onto the top of the input housing.
5. Assemble the thrust bearing (103) over the input shaft and onto the top of the selective thrust washer (104).
