Subject: Intermittent MIL/Check Engine Light On, DTC P0128 Set (Reprogram ECM)

This bulletin is being revised to change the Warranty Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 09-06-02-004 (06 - Engine/Propulsion System).
Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint
Condition
Some customers may comment that the SES Light is on. Upon inspection, you may find DTC P0128 (Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
Correction
Verify that the cooling system is filled to the proper level and that the cooling system is functioning properly. If everything is functioning properly, reprogram the ECM with a new service calibration using the TIS2WEB Service Programming System (SPS) application. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
Warranty Information
For vehicles repaired under the 8 year / 80,000 mile (130,000 km) emission controller warranty, use the table above.
