Knock Sensor Replacement - Bank 2

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the bank 2 knock sensor (3).




5. Loosen the knock sensor bolt and remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Position the knock sensor and tighten the knock sensor bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the bank 2 knock sensor (3).
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Install a NEW engine oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
