Generator Bracket Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair).
2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LE5) (Generator Replacement)Generator Replacement (LY7) (Generator Replacement).
5. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
6. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.
9. Remove the generator bracket bolts.
10. Remove the generator bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the generator bracket.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the generator bracket bolts and tighten in sequence to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
3. Install the drive belt tensioner.
4. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LE5) (Generator Replacement)Generator Replacement (LY7) (Generator Replacement).
8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair).
