Condition

Some customers may bring their vehicles into the dealership for a concern relating to the operation of their power windows.

Cause

This condition may be caused by internal corrosion, which may cause a short in the exterior door switch. This short may send false information to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) and cause repeated or no signal to be sent to the window regulator.

Correction

Diagnose the exterior door handle switch as a possible cause for this condition. If diagnosis confirms the condition is caused by the exterior door handle switch, replace both driver and passenger switches.
