CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS

1. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a first pass in sequence to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
2. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a second pass in sequence to 90 degrees using the J 45059 .
3. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts (1-10) a final pass in sequence to 70 degrees using the J 45059 .
4. Tighten the M8 cylinder head bolts (11-15) to 30 Nm (22 lb ft). Begin with the center bolt (11) and alternating side-to-side, work outward tightening all of the bolts.

CYLINDER HEAD BOLT RE-USABILITY
Note: Do not use the cylinder head bolts again. Install NEW cylinder head bolts during assembly.
Do not use any type of sealant on the cylinder head gasket, unless specified.
The cylinder head gaskets must be installed in the proper direction and position.
INTAKE MANIFOLD

Tighten the intake manifold bolts to the sequence below:
First Pass: Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
Final Pass: Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
MAIN BEARING CAP


Tighten the M10 bearing cap bolts (1-10) a first pass in sequence to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
Tighten the M10 bolts (1-10) a final pass in sequence 80 degrees using the J 45059 - meter.
Tighten the M10 studs (11-20) a first pass in sequence to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
Tighten the M10 studs (11-20) a final pass in sequence 51 degrees using the J 45059 - meter.
Tighten the bearing cap side M8 bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb
Tighten the bearing cap side M8 bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
Tighten the bolt on 1 side of the bearing cap and then tighten the bolt on the opposite side of the same bearing cap.

First Pass 20 Nm (15 lb ft)
Final Pass 110 degrees
CRANKSHAFT PULLEY
Crankshaft Balancer Bolt
First Pass 150 Nm (111 lb ft)
Second Pass Loosen 360 degrees
Third Pass 50 Nm (37 lb ft)
Final Pass 230 degrees
FLYWHEEL/FLEXPLATE
Flywheel Bolts
First Pass 30 Nm (22 lb ft)
Final Pass 40 degrees
OIL PUMP
Oil Pump Cover Bolts 12 Nm (106 lb in)
EXHAUST MANIFOLD

WATER PUMP

Final Pass 30 Nm (22 lb ft)
