Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the ECM.





3. Important:
Use care not to damage connector retaining levers.

Remove the TCM connectors from the TCM, noting proper connection points for installation.

4. Notice:
Control module damage may result when the metal case contacts battery voltage. DO NOT contact the control module metal case with battery voltage when servicing a control module, using battery booster cables or when charging the vehicles battery.

Use the retaining tab in order to release the TCM from the under hood junction block bracket.
5. Lift the TCM halfway, then rotate the TCM clockwise to remove.

Installation Procedure





1. Place the lower right corner of the TCM into the under hood junction block bracket.
2. Rotate the TCM counter clockwise, then press the TCM downward until fully seated.
3. Install the TCM harness connectors to the TCM, as noted during removal.
4. Install the ECM.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Program the TCM. Refer to Transmission Control Module Programming and Setup.
