Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

3. Remove the EGR valve retaining bolts.

4. Remove the EGR valve from the electronic ignition (EI) system ignition coil adapter.

Installation Procedure





1. Clean the EI system ignition coil adapter mating surface.

2. Install a new EGR valve gasket.

Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

3. Install the EGR valve with the bolts.

Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation valve retaining bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).

4. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.

5. Connect the negative battery cable
