Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
3. Remove the bolt.
4. Remove the speed sensor and the O-ring seal.
5. Inspect the seal and the transmission case. Replace the seal, if necessary.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the speed sensor and the O-ring seal into the transmission.
2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the bolt.
^ Tighten the bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
3. Install the electrical connector to the speed sensor.
4. Lower the vehicle.
