CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
3. Remove the CMP sensor.
4. Inspect the CMP sensor O-rings for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is being reused. Replace the O-rings if damaged.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Lubricate the CMP sensor O-rings with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CMP sensor.
3. Install the CMP sensor bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
