End Gate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Lower the endgate.




2. Remove the theft deterrent bolt.
3. With an assistant, raise the endgate to a 45 degree angle.




4. Remove the cable on each side from the side panel striker bolts.
5. Remove the endgate from the right side hinge assembly by lifting up on the right side.
6. With an assistant, remove the endgate from the left body side hinge by sliding to the right and lifting.

Installation Procedure




1. With an assistant, install the endgate onto the left body side hinge by sliding to the left and lifting.
2. Install the endgate to the right side hinge assembly by holding the endgate at a 45 degree angle and lowering the endgate onto the hinge.




3. Install the cables onto the side panel striker bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the theft deterrent bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Inspect the endgate operation.
