Air Intake System

2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN KSECTION Air Intake System

Air Induction System:

The air induction system provides contaminant and sound filtration of the outside air as it is drawn into the engine. A remotely mounted air cleaner prevents contaminants in the air from entering the engine. The air cleaner assembly also acts as a resonator to reduce air induction noise. The filtered air then enters the engine by flowing through the air intake duct, throttle body, into the intake manifold, through the cylinder head intake ports, and into the cylinders.
