HVAC Control Assembly Replacement
2002 Chevrolet Express 1/2 Ton Van V8-5.7L VIN RSECTION HVAC Control Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate.
2. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the left edge of the HVAC control assembly (2).

3. Pivot the HVAC control assembly from the instrument panel in order to disengage the tab on the right side of the HVAC control assembly.

4. Pull the HVAC control assembly out of the instrument panel far enough to reach the vacuum and the electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the vacuum connectors.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Connect the vacuum connectors.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.

3. Install the HVAC control assembly to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the HVAC control assembly with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the HVAC control assembly into the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the HVAC control assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.

2. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the left edge of the HVAC control assembly (2).
3. Pivot the HVAC control assembly from the instrument panel in order to disengage the tab on the right side of the HVAC control assembly.
4. Pull the HVAC control assembly out of the instrument panel far enough to reach the vacuum and the electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the vacuum connectors.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the vacuum connectors.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Install the HVAC control assembly to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the HVAC control assembly with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the HVAC control assembly into the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the HVAC control assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.
