Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN KSECTION Service and Repair
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the injector sight shield.




2. Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the two TP sensor attaching screws.




4. Remove the TP sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the two TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. LOCTITE 262(R), GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.

Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2.0 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.




4. Reinstall the injector sight shield.
