2001 Chevrolet Express 1/2 Ton Van V6-4.3L VIN WSECTION HVAC Control Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate.
2. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the left edge of the control head (2).
3. Pivot the control head from the instrument panel in order to disengage the tab on the right side of the control head.
4. Pull the control head out of the instrument panel tar enough to reach the vacuum and the electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the vacuum connectors.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the vacuum connectors.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Install the control head to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the control head with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the control head into the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the control head.
Tighten
Tighten the heater and the A/C control head retaining screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.
1. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate.
2. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the left edge of the control head (2).
3. Pivot the control head from the instrument panel in order to disengage the tab on the right side of the control head.
4. Pull the control head out of the instrument panel tar enough to reach the vacuum and the electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Disconnect the vacuum connectors.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the vacuum connectors.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Install the control head to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the control head with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the control head into the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the control head.
Tighten
Tighten the heater and the A/C control head retaining screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.
