2001 Chevrolet Express 1 Ton Van V8-5.7L VIN RSECTION Generator Replacement - Auxiliary
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the upper fan shroud.
3. Remove the drive belt from the generator.
4. Remove the mounting bolts for the auxiliary generator brace.
5. Remove the generator brace from the vehicle.




6. Remove the nut and battery cable from the generator.
7. Remove the electrical connector from the generator.
8. Remove the generator from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the generator to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the generator.




3. Install the nut and battery cable to the generator.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the auxiliary generator brace.
5. Install the auxiliary generator bolts.

Tighten
- The long bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- The short bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

6. Install the drive belt to the generator.
7. Install the upper fan shroud.
8. Connect the battery negative cable.
