Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble
2001 Chevrolet Astro Van L AWD V6-4.3L VIN WSECTION Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble
1. Install the lock bolt spring (3) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
2. Position the cutout in the lock bolt assembly (4) at the 6 o'clock position.
3. Install the lock bolt assembly (4) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
4. Push the lock bolt assembly (4) into the steering column tilt head assembly (5) until the lock bolt assembly is flush with the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
5. Align the electronic lock module assembly (2) with the steering column tilt head assembly (5).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Screw the 3 pan head tapping screws (1) into the electronic lock module assembly (2).
- Tighten the 3 pan head tapping screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
Notice: Refer to Improper Routing of the Wire Harness Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Place steering column lock cylinder set into the OFF position.
8. Place the shift lever clevis into the PARK position.
9. Press the locking tab on the end of the park lock cable assembly (1) into the slot in the electronic lock module assembly.
10. Install the ignition and key alarm switch assembly only. Refer to Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
11. Install the upper tilt head components. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle.
12. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle.
13. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraint System
