After you perform the Powertrain On-Board Diagnostic System Check, if the on-board diagnostics function properly and no diagnostic codes are displayed, use the scan tool data that is listed in this table for comparison. Not all of the parameters will apply to each vehicle. Use only the parameters which apply to your particular vehicle.

The typical scan tool data values represent the values that a normally-functioning system will display. The values you receive may vary due to a low battery charge or due to other reasons. The values should be very similar to the typical values that are provided in the following list.

Do not use a scan tool that displays erroneous data. Report the problem to the manufacturer. Use of a faulty scan tool can result in misdiagnosis and in unnecessary parts replacement.
