Cruise Control Module: Service and Repair

2000 Chevrolet Malibu V6-3.1L VIN JSECTION Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body control bracket.
2. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body cam.
3. Remove the cruise control cable from the module by turning the cable assembly 1A turn counterclockwise.




4. Remove the cable from the ribbon.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the module assembly.




6. Unclip the hinged retaining strap from the bracket at the top of the module.
7. Remove the module from the mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the module assembly to the mounting bracket.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the module.




3. Connect the cruise control cable to the module ribbon.




4. Install the cruise control cable to the module assembly by turning the cable assembly � turn clockwise.




5. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle body control bracket.
6. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle body cam.
7. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment.
8. Perform A Diagnostic System Check. Refer to A Diagnostic System Check - Cruise Control.
