The PCM performs the following functions:
1. Reads the transaxle range Switch.
2. Transmits the selected gear position over class 2. The BCM retransmits this information to the instrument cluster via the SPI data link.
The instrument cluster must turn on the correct indicator and perform a scrolling function. In the event of a class 2 serial data or SPI failure the PRNDL will not be illuminated.
