Lock Operation

1999 Chevrolet Lumina V6-3.8L VIN KSECTION Lock Operation
The following actions occur when you press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter:
1. The remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) receives a signal with a valid vehicle access code (VAC).
2. The RCDLR locks all of the doors.
3. The headlamp switch receives a lock signal through CKT 49.
4. The headlamp switch turns ON the courtesy lights for 2 seconds.

This indicates that the door has locked. The RCDLR supplies voltage to the coil of the door lock relay. The door lock relay is energized and voltage is supplied to the door lock actuators. The RCDLR CKT 694 provides ground for the driver's door lock actuator through internal contacts. Ground for the other door lock actuators is provided through the contacts of the unlock relay of the door lock relay. All of the door lock actuators run to lock all of the doors.
