REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the instrument cluster trim plate.
2. Remove the heater and the A/C control from the instrument panel by the following procedures:

3. Remove the retaining screw (1) from the left edge of the control head (2).

4. Pivot the control head from the instrument panel in order to disengage the tab on the right side of the control head.

5. Pull the control head out of the instrument panel far enough to reach the vacuum and the electrical connectors.
6. Remove the electrical connectors.
7. Remove the vacuum connectors.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the vacuum connectors.
2. Install the electrical connectors.

3. Install the control head to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the control head with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the control head into the instrument panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the control head.
Tighten
Tighten the heater and the A/C control head retaining screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.

6. Remove the electrical connectors.
7. Remove the vacuum connectors.

1. Install the vacuum connectors.
2. Install the electrical connectors.
3. Install the control head to the instrument panel by the following procedures:
4. Align the tab on the right side of the control head with the slot in the instrument panel.
5. Pivot the control head into the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the retaining screw (1) to the left edge of the control head.
Tighten
Tighten the heater and the A/C control head retaining screw to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
7. Install the instrument cluster trim plate.
