Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the one bolt and the CMP sensor.

3. Inspect the CMP sensor signal rotor (2) for damage using a mirror (1).
Installation Procedure

1. Install the CMP sensor.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices
2. Secure the CMP sensor with the one bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
1. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the one bolt and the CMP sensor.
3. Inspect the CMP sensor signal rotor (2) for damage using a mirror (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the CMP sensor.

2. Secure the CMP sensor with the one bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
