Drive Axle Final Assembly
1998 Chevrolet Express 1 Ton Van V8-5.7L VIN RSECTION Drive Axle Final Assembly
1. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the axle cover.
2. Install the axle cover to the axle with the bolts.
^ Tighten the axle cover bolts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notices in Service Precautions.
3. Fill the axle with oil.
4. Install the fill plug to the case.
^ Tighten the fill plug to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the axle cover to the axle with the bolts.
^ Tighten the axle cover bolts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notices in Service Precautions.
3. Fill the axle with oil.
4. Install the fill plug to the case.
^ Tighten the fill plug to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
