Before beginning diagnosis, make a visual inspection for the following and repair as needed:

^ Verify that the fuse is not open.
^ Verify that the electrical system has no bare, broken, or disconnected wires.
^ Verify that the cruise control cable is not binding.
^ Verify that the cruise control cable is adjusted properly.
^ Verify that the stoplamp switch is not damaged.
^ Verify that the stop lamp switch is positioned properly.

If preliminary inspection reveals no problem, refer to "Functional Check".
