Attaching Cable To Cruise Control Module Ribbon:
Attaching The Cable To The Throttle Body:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Engine cover.
2. Cable from throttle linkage.
3. Cable conduit from the cable bracket.
4. Cable conduit from HVAC module. Open the clip and remove the cable. Do not remove the clip from the HVAC module.
5. Cable conduit from the cruise control module housing.
6. Cable bead from the end of the ribbon.
^ Do not allow ribbon to retract into the module assembly.
7. Cable from vehicle.
Cruise Control Cable Routing:
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Remove any twist from the ribbon.
Attaching Cable To Cruise Control Module Ribbon:
2. Attach cable bead to cruise control module ribbon buckle.
Important
^ Do not twist the ribbon.
^ Pull to verify retention.
3. Check the orientation of the ribbon buckle to the cable end fitting.
4. Feed the buckle into the cable end fining.
Important
^ Do not twist the ribbon.
5. Snap the cable fitting into the cruise control module.
Important
^ Verify that the mounting tangs are fully engaged.
^ Pull the cable to verify retention.
Seating The Cable Ferrule:
6. If a new cable is being installed, pull the cruise control cable ferrule (2) through the opposite end of the fitting (1). The ferrule (2) colour is natural and must be visible when pulled through the fitting (1).
Attaching The Cable To The Throttle Body:
7. From inside the vehicle, snap the cable fitting onto the nail head stud on the throttle body linkage.

8. Route the cable core wire through the slot in the round hole of the accelerator bracket.
9. Insert the cruise control cable conduit fitting into the round hole in the accelerator bracket.
Important
^ The fitting must have it's locking tangs expanded and locked in the hole.
Locking The Conduit Adjuster:
10. When installing a new cable or adjusting an old one, engage the lock on the conduit adjuster. The white paint mark (1) will disappear when the adjuster is locked.
11. Cable conduit to HVAC module. Place the conduit inside the clip and snap closed.
12. Test the cruise control functions.
Releaseing The Conduit Adjuster:
Adjust
^ If the cruise control cable requires adjustment, release the lock by gently squeezing the tangs on the adjuster plunger and pulling upward, as illustrated. After completing the adjustment, reseat the lock as described in step 10.
